Scandinavian Capitals Explored

Day 1: Arrival in Copenhagen
Today is the arrival day. Since everyone is arriving at different times, you can check into your hotel in the afternoon. If you have booked an airport arrival transfer, then look for a sign with your name at the arrival hall of the airport to meet your driver for your transfer to the hotel. In the evening, meet your tour guide at the lobby at 18:00 for a tour briefing and get to know your fellow group members for the next 8 days.

Day 2: Copenhagen City Tour
Your tour guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel at 09:00 and proceed on foot to visit City Hall, Christiansborg Palace, Kongens Nytorv, Old Stock Exchange building, Royal Theatre, and Nyhavn harbor. The buildings will be seen from outside. The walking tour will last until around noon, and you can enjoy your free time until 15:30 when you meet your driver at the lobby to transfer to the ferry pier to take an overnight ferry to Oslo. Day 3: Oslo Arrival Transfer and City Tour
Arrive by ferry to Oslo in the morning and then transfer to your hotel in the downtown area. Depending on availability, you may check into your room and have a rest before meeting your tour guide at the lobby for a guided walking tour of Oslo. On this relaxed and personalized walking tour, you will learn about Norwegian culture from the Vikings to the modern day as you follow a route past some of the town’s most important landmarks and sites. Stroll around must-see local landmarks such as the Norwegian Parliament, the Royal Palace, the Cathedral of Oslo, the Oslo Opera House, and Akerhus Castle and Fortress that has protected Oslo since medieval times. You will also visit cool areas frequented by locals and discover the backstreets.

Day 4: Oslo to Flam
This morning, we check out of our hotel and depart for Stockholm by bus. Traveling through the Scandinavian countryside with scenic lake views, we will stop at the old lakeside town of Karlstad for a lunch break. Enjoy your free time for lunch and then continue to Stockholm. Arrive in Stockholm in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. Overnight in Stockholm. B.

Day 5: Stockholm
After breakfast, we gather at the reception to meet our tour guide and then enjoy a walking tour of the old city, exploring the back streets of Gamla Stan, the old city, and then proceed to a museum to see the submerged Swedish royal warship from the 17th century. Overnight in Stockholm. B.

Day 6: Stockholm
Today is free for your leisure to enjoy Stockholm. You may take a canal cruise or visit the nearby medieval town of Sigtuna and Uppsala. In the afternoon, we meet at the hotel lobby at 15:00 and then transfer to the ferry terminal to take an overnight ferry to Helsinki. Overnight on board ferry. B.D

Day 7: Helsinki
Arrive in Helsinki by ferry and then enjoy a guided tour of the city visiting the Sibelius Monument dedicated to the famous Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius. Then continue to Oodi library via Olympic Stadium and Finlandia House, one of the masterpieces of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Visit the extraordinary Oodi library and enjoy the view with the parliament house, one of the most beautiful buildings in Helsinki. Then continue to Rock Church, a small church carved out of solid granite rock. Later, you will visit Senate Square with the Great Cathedral of Helsinki and then continue on foot to the market square and old market hall by the old harbor. Enjoy some free time for lunch and shopping. In the late afternoon, check into your centrally located hotel. Overnight in Helsinki.

Day 8: Helsinki Departure
Today, the tour ends after breakfast. You can take a train to Vantaa Airport or a taxi from your hotel. Alternatively, you can book a private transfer in advance for your departure flight. Those who have a late flight in the afternoon or evening can book a tour of Porvoo, a well-preserved Finnish medieval town.
