From the royal streets of Stockholm to the snow-covered landscapes of Lapland, this carefully crafted journey combines Scandinavian history, Indigenous culture and unforgettable Arctic experiences. Discover Sweden's maritime past, encounter the traditions of the Sámi people, travel by husky sled through pristine wilderness and search for the Northern Lights beneath some of Europe's darkest skies.
Explore medieval city quarters and royal landmarks, discover the remarkable story of the Vasa warship and experience life above the Arctic Circle through authentic cultural encounters and Arctic adventures. Along the way, gain insight into Sámi traditions, travel through landscapes shaped by centuries of reindeer herding and venture into the wilderness by husky sled, snowmobile and snowshoes.
Stay in some of the Nordic region's most distinctive accommodations. In Swedish Lapland, spend two nights at the iconic Treehotel, an architectural retreat hidden amongst pine forests near the Lule River, where innovative design blends seamlessly with nature.
The journey also highlights Arctic creativity and innovation, from a visit to the world-famous ICEHOTEL, rebuilt each winter from ice harvested from the Torne River. Spend evenings searching for the Northern Lights beneath some of Europe's darkest skies.
In Finnish Lapland, enjoy an unforgettable stay at Levin Iglut, where glass-roofed igloos offer panoramic views across the surrounding fells and forests and, with a little luck, the chance to watch the Northern Lights from the comfort of your bed.
Blending history, culture, wilderness and unique accommodation experiences, this journey reveals the many faces of the Nordic North, from Sweden's royal heritage and maritime history to the living traditions and natural wonders of Lapland.
Welcome to Stockholm, Sweden's elegant capital built across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. For centuries, Stockholm has been the political, cultural and economic heart of Sweden, growing from a medieval trading settlement into one of Scandinavia's most vibrant cities.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy time at leisure to explore the city's waterfront promenades, stylish cafés and historic quarters.

Explore Stockholm on a private sightseeing tour through the city's most iconic districts, including Gamla Stan, Östermalm and Djurgården. Wander through narrow cobbled streets dating back to the Middle Ages and admire landmarks such as the Royal Palace, the Nobel Museum and Stortorget Square, where many chapters of Swedish history have unfolded.
The highlight of the day is a visit to the renowned Vasa Museum. The Vasa warship was commissioned by King Gustav II Adolf during Sweden's rise as a major European power. Intended to demonstrate the kingdom's military strength, the ship sank just minutes into its maiden voyage in 1628. After resting on the seabed for more than 300 years, it was recovered and painstakingly restored. Today, it stands as one of the world's best-preserved seventeenth-century ships and offers a remarkable insight into Sweden's Golden Age.

Fly north from Stockholm into the vast landscapes of Swedish Lapland and arrive at the unique Treehotel. Hidden amongst pine forests near the Lule River, the hotel's contemporary architecture reflects Sweden's long-standing tradition of combining innovative design with a deep respect for nature.
Spend the evening surrounded by Arctic wilderness, where the silence of the forests and the clarity of the northern skies create a striking contrast to city life.
Overnight: Treehouse
Venture into the forests of Swedish Lapland on a guided wildlife safari. This region is home to moose, reindeer, mountain hares and numerous bird species that have adapted to life in the far north. Learn how local communities have lived alongside these animals for generations, relying on the natural rhythms of the Arctic landscape.
After dark, enjoy an extraordinary dining experience on the frozen surface of the Lule River. Historically, rivers such as the Lule served as vital transportation routes and connected remote communities throughout northern Sweden. Gather inside a heated tipi for a three-course dinner while learning about Arctic traditions, local lifestyles and the significance of the river to the region's history. With favourable conditions, the evening may also be illuminated by the Northern Lights.
Overnight: Treehouse
Continue north to Kiruna with a stop at Silba Siida, an authentic cultural experience hosted by a Sámi family whose lives remain closely connected to reindeer herding. The Sámi are the Indigenous people of northern Scandinavia and have inhabited these lands for thousands of years. Their culture is deeply intertwined with nature, seasonal migrations and the care of reindeer.
Gather around the fire in a traditional lávvu and listen to joik, the distinctive Sámi tradition of storytelling through song. Learn about the eight Sámi seasons, a practical calendar developed around the annual cycle of reindeer herding, and enjoy traditional dishes prepared over an open fire using local ingredients.
In the evening, embark on a Northern Lights chase. Travelling away from artificial light, your guides use local knowledge and weather forecasts to maximise viewing opportunities. Along the way, hear stories about Arctic life and folklore before enjoying Swedish fika around a wilderness campfire beneath the northern sky.
Overnight: Elite Hotel Frost or similar
Visit the famous ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, the world's first hotel built entirely of ice and snow. Created in 1989, the hotel has become an international symbol of Arctic creativity. Each winter, artists from across the globe transform blocks of ice harvested from the nearby Torne River into extraordinary suites, sculptures and artistic installations. No two editions of the hotel are ever the same.
Later, experience one of Lapland's most iconic activities on a husky sledding adventure. Before snowmobiles became common, sled dogs were among the most dependable forms of transport across the Arctic. Working together with an enthusiastic team of huskies offers an authentic glimpse into a way of life that has shaped northern communities for generations. After the safari, enjoy traditional Swedish fika around an open fire.

Snowshoes have long been an essential means of winter travel in northern regions, allowing people to move efficiently across deep snow. As you explore, your guide will introduce local wildlife, Arctic ecology and the realities of life above the Arctic Circle. A wilderness pause with warm drinks and freshly baked cinnamon buns completes the experience.
